About Us
Umhlanga Ocean Charters is a registered (Pty) Ltd company that started in January 2016. We offer Whale and Dolphin Watching Tours and Deep Sea Fishing Charters off the Durban Harbour.
Together with Brad and Gideon (i.e. our skippers) who have a vast amount of experience in our industry, and them having acquired an in-depth knowledge of the ocean, they consider safety a top priority. We are a very understanding bunch and we know more than anyone, just how important it is to be safe while out at sea.
For those of you who would like to make use of our Deep Sea Fishing Charters, we offer a 5 Hour Trip and a 7 Hour Trip. We aim to give you a more personal, comfortable and memorable fishing experience by providing the necessary attention to each fisherman aboard the vessel. We do this by limiting the number of patrons (i.e. maximum 6) we take on board the vessel, thus ensuring that each person is given the skippers undivided attention. We do offer all your fishing necessities; bait, tackle and fishing gear!
Obviously, fishing isn’t for everybody, which is why Umhlanga Ocean Charters also offers a 2 Hour Whale Watching Tour and a 1 Hour Dolphin Watching Tour were you get to just kick-back, relax, and soak up some sun while going along Durban’s Coastline spotting these giant-loving-creatures and not forgetting being given a tour by our Whale Time tour guides. This is truly a serene experience which additionally offers breathtaking views of the city skyline that will impress even the most seasoned Durbnite.
